Andrew Rudd is the Urban Environment Officer for UN-Habitat. He is out-posted to New York from the Urban Planning & Design Branch in Nairobi, where he lived and worked for five years. In New York he coordinates advocacy for urban component of the Post-2015 Development Agenda (including the the Sustainable Development Goals) and manages a portfolio of projects related to reducing urban sprawl and improving landscape connectivity. He was the project manager of UN-Habitat's Urban Patterns for a Green Economy publication and Urban Edge photographic investigation, and was part of UN-Habitat's delegation to Rio+20. Andrew was also one of the authors of Cities and Biodiversity Outlook. Previously at the UN, Andrew worked as an architect in the private sector in New York on retail, residential and transport planning projects. Andrew studied architecture at Yale and city design at LSE.
