Daniel Hernandez is the Deputy Commissioner for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Mr. Hernandez has over 20 years of experience as a real estate developer and planner. His career in the governmental, private and non-profit sectors represents his commitment to community development, city building, environmental responsibility, and transformational planning through public private partnerships and civic engagement. Mr. Hernandez is on faculty at the Pratt Institute teaching an urban development studio, and has taught at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and is a frequent critic and lecturer on sustainable real estate practice, planning, and urban development.
