David M. Childs is Chairman Emeritus of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Mr. Childs’ work has been built throughout the United States and around the world. As a consultant to SOM, he is currently redesigning the Farley Post Office in New York City for use as the new Pennsylvania Train Station, and his design for the new Freedom Tower at the World Trade Center is now under construction. Mr. Childs has served as Chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission, Chairman of the Commission of Fine Arts in Washington and Chairman of the American Academy in Rome. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and Board of Director Emeritus for MAS.
