Mothers Empowered

As co-founder of both Mothers Empowered (ME) and NYCpublic.org, Dionne Grayman splits her time between her two passions: providing a safe space for mothers living in low-income neighborhoods to create networks of internal supports and making sure that communities and non-profits have access to democratic deliberative processes. As the president of the Brooklyn Chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc, Ms. Grayman created a mentor coach program between chapter members and pregnant and parenting teens to help gain access to college and career options. She currently sits on the Advocacy Council of the Citizens’ Committee for the Children of New York and is actively involved with youth in both the Brownsville Partnership and the Brownsville Community Justice Center.
