James von Klemperer is the Design Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox, where he has been responsible for award-winning projects of many different programs and scales. His philosophy centers on the social, economic and cultural benefits of urban density as his work explores opportunities to integrate public space with varied program and connectivity. He is especially interested in the capacity of skyscrapers to contribute to the urban fabric. Currently, Mr. von Klemperer is Principal-In-Charge of the One Vanderbilt project in Manhattan, which will provide much-needed public space and a connection to Grand Central Terminal. His completed work includes the Lotte Tower in Seoul, a mixed use 123 story building.
