Associate Professor of Historic Preservation
Jorge Otero-Pailos is an architect, artist and theorist soecialized in experimental preservation. He leads an award-winning international practice devoted to advancing preservation as a forward-looking creative field, and has received distinctions such as UNESCO's PRominent Professional Award. He contributes broad expert knowledge in, and strategic thinking on, all aspects and scales of preservation, and collaborates with leading architects to make heritage preservation the inspiration for design excellene. His work has been exhbited at the Venice Art Biennial (2009), and the Manifesta Art Biennial (2008), as well as in art galleries internationally. The work has also been published in professional international journals of reference such as Art in America, Artforum, Architectural Record, Modern Painters,AA files, volume, and others. he is Associate Professor of historic Preservation at Columbia University GSAPP, and the Founder and Editor of the journal Future Anterior.
