Paula Z. Segal is the founding director of 596 Acres, New York City's only community land access advocates. 596 Acres has helped 26 groups become formal stewards of the commons through licenses and leases with municipal agencies and public authorities for use of formerly vacant public land. Ms. Segal is a graduate of City University of New York Law School at Queens College where she worked in the Economic Justice Project at Main Street Legal Services. She is an attorney admitted to practice in New York State and a partner in her own firm, Mohen & Segal, which focuses on legal services for entities working on our shared sustainable economy.
